Who can know the mind of God?
My magnificent makeover is more like a lesson in listening. Instead of analyzing what passes through my mind each day, I simply log it.
Then I relax and wait for the inspiration to share a piece of it here. With you.
Today it's about striving. Our futile attempts to find the "fix" out there somewhere.
Here are some of the ways I have tried to establish and maintain conscious contact with my Creator:
Reading, praying, chanting, meditating, yoga, fasting, sweat lodges, drugs, church involvement, church avoidance, bible reading, bible school, comparative religions, metaphysical studies, hypnosis, abstinence, 12-step anonymous groups, codependent support groups, bible study, book study, retreats, seminars, workshops, counseling, therapy, personality tests, spiritual gifts inventories, speaking in tongues, or not speaking at all.
It begins to resemble the list of diet and exercise programs I've tried over the years to make me a better person. It's an exhaustive and exhausting project.
Truth is, we had the answer within us all along. We just need to trust it.
